The Stars (My Destination)
I don't know where I went wrong
But I can't seem to hold on
And If I'm slowly letting this all go
Then I guess I'll reach for the stars
There was once a time I
Hadn't known the pressures of life
Shining with my head up high
But then seduced by the night
And here I'd find a cold bitter fight
One that left me a regretful mind
As if lying in wait
The frost gave way
And the blizzard came
I was buried too deep
Suffocated by the weight
In the ice I'm washed away
I'd accepted my fate
'Cept regrets I can't escape
And I know inside
That my heart just wants saved
But in the night sky the dark gave way
The planets they change
The sun has gone away
The moon's unsure
The clouds they pour
But the stars hold strong
Shining from within
Forever they spin
On and on and on
When I look back I see you
When I look down I see them
When I look sideways I feel ashamed
When I look forward I see more pain
But when I look up
I feel like things might change
I look to the stars to
Find a sign
But I'm not feeling hopeful
Don't align
I'll look to the stars to
Find a sign
So I'll take to the sky to
Find my light
If I'm not lost on this earth
I guess I'm just lost in my heart
I keep questioning
All of my beginnings
And I'm seeing
They results from bitter endings
I envisioned
Something more for myself
Reaching up to the stars
It's all I really got
I'll envision
Something more for myself
But the constellations show
Freewill is lost
Looking up to the north
A star so bright
It's the one place that re-centers me
And I fight
The clouds just to breathe
It's so hard to believe
In anything I can't see
The tether's been released
And the answer seems so stale and grey
I thought there would be a magic to this place
I look to the stars to
Find a sign
But I'm not feeling hopeful
Don't align
I'll look to the stars to
Find a sign
So I'll take to the sky to
Find my light
And I question if
I'll make it or I'll break
If I can pace The Dipper
I may finally awake
Obscured and empty
I need illumination
Since my destiny is fleeting
The stars; my destination
I look to the stars to
Find a sign
But I'm not feeling hopeful
Don't align
I'll look to the stars to
Find a sign
So I'll take to the sky to
Find my light
I'll look to the stars to
Find a sign
So I'll take to the sky to
Find my light
I'll look to the stars to
Find a sign
So I'll take to the sky to
Find my light
