Brain Itch

Realities shift and warp
As I attempt to escape
The city of phosphorescent, ectoplasmic rage
I begin to feel it building
This itch within my brain
As I attempt my escape from this realm
Void of all that is sane

Ascending from the depths of the chasm
Now on a pathway beaten and worn
A migratory trail leading from that decaying place
As this presence haunts me evermore

Doom
I am met with doom
From the stalking presence that continues to pursue
Creeping from just beyond my sight
The entity approaches me
Manipulating the strings of reality
I can feel it floating directly behind me

"No!"

I turn around in one swift motion
But my eyes are met with nothing
Suddenly, a force starts building
I feel the presence behind me again
I turn to view this malicious horror
It begins to take shape and take form
A form of nightmares created before me
It's mouth agape as it renders its ghastly face

It's hollow eyes gaze into mine

Away!
I cast away this demon before me
But it approaches me still
And beckons me closer

"Don't you see? We are connected.
My birth was caused by your entry.
I have stalked your presence throughout this place,
What some call The Nothing.
I have waited for this moment, when we can meet face to face.
Now you shall see what lies in wait
And all that hides behind the veil."

The being, in quick motion, lunges forward knocking me down
Pinning me, it reveals tendrils from within its cloak
Extending, they pry open my jaw and are forced down my throat
As I am made to watch the entity fuse with me

This demon becomes me!

Stumbling as I rise to my feet
The pressure in my head is increased
The itch in my brain won't cease
Reality distorts and misshapes before me
As I begin to regroup
All my thoughts and my actions start to reduce
To a sliver of control that I have left
All while numbness takes over my chest

Falling deep into a trance
My consciousness shuts down
My mind and body separate as I drift further from the waking world
I see a person suffering, spread out upon a stone table
I can do nothing but observe

O' sheer horror!
