Page 5: A Day In the Life

Some would say I'm insane
Some would say it's a lie
So for now spend a day, in the life
In the mind of a slave
To the pain that's inside
You're lucky this is just a day, in the life

Slippery slope I've been sleeping on, if I get any at all
Pill after pill after pill, they give us so many it's wrong
Hospital bed where I'm laying, my roommate and I get along
He told me his dad was abusive, he told me he ain't know his mom
Trading the stories the pain and the glory
Bloodstain on the sheets from the patient before me
Said most kids like us ain't gon' make it till' 40
Or 30 or 20 we making end shortly
This girl that was there bashed her head in the wall
While screaming and crying, security called
They grabbed her, by then she had punctured her skull
Don't know if she made it we never were told
This guy that I knew had some scars on his wrist
So deep and so wide I don't know how he lived
This one girl I knew had severe schizophrenia
Manic and panic attacks came from anyone
She had a good friend and his name was Stanly
To her he was real but I can't see him sadly
Pills like it's candy it still didn't help
Some days she was lucid and others were hell
Just some of the stories of shit you encounter
When pain isn't cure from shit over the counter
When voices inside getting louder and louder
Telling you bullshit to knock down your power
Telling you reasons why taking your life
Is the answer you looking for, breaking the ice
The cost is your soul and you paying the price
But shit, that's just a day in the life

That's just a day in the life
That's just a day in the life
