Window Shopping

Watch the buildings blow by
Watch them blend with the sky
Watch the feelings fade to gray
Watch it all blur to one
Watch the days each die
Watch the seasons change
Watch the leaves fall
Watch it all
Happen again

I'm not saying it's all your fault
Or that you should blame it on someone else
But in a sea of stoic faces
I see no static human beings

We're changing minds as fast as time
And if you get swept up in the tide
You begin to barely recognize the reflections walking by

It's easier to love something
When it doesn't yet exist
Or in the time when it all desists
Before you were over it

You count the hours like precious stones
But in hindsight, shows you only gold
But you don't remember how when you were there
You wish you were somewhere else

Watch the strangers float by
Window shopping for anything new
Watch the cracks in the cement remind you to call your mom
Watch the focus fade
Zoom out, see so much you forgot loved
Watch the earth regrow from the ground
Hills full of daffoldils to lead your way
