Wanderlust

Dig amongst the fallen ash
That speaks of a trepid past
Dig another layer down
Another tunnel in another ring around
Dig anything that was left behind may extend life
Dig for another cache, another trove, a hidden stash

My search for mundane has revealed the arcane
But the weight of a troubled mind is better left behind

Dig tear away the veil
Returning broken fingernails
Dig and double down
To make up for time lost last round
Dig every supply
Recovered buys just a bit more time
Dig because the winter cold
Will strip us to the bone

Count out days in earnings gained
The math adds up to not a plan
Days spent working, days spent resting
Weary mind and tired hands
Best to stick to the routine
And make way with the easy grind
Or best to risk more and taste loss
In hoping for a lucky find

My stillness of mind stirred by the divine
But the gravity of these thoughts serves best when lost

Time after time after time
And half a week goes by
Grind after grind after grind
For just enough supply
Time after time after time
I am loosing the light
Grind after grind after grind
Just to sleep at night

Again (again, again)

My search for mundane has revealed the arcane
But the weight of a troubled mind is better left behind
My stillness of mind stirred by the divine
But the gravity of these thoughts serves best when lost

Dig just to hold my own
It's easier to sleep alone
Dig keep the cold away, the fire lit
The wolves at bay
Dig it may not be much
But what i have may be enough
Dig because the winter cold
Will cut us to the bone

Dig
Dig
Dig
