Babylon
The Spirit took control of me
At once an angel carried me to a desert by the sea
There a woman sat on a beast so red
The beast had ten horns and seven heads
The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet
And covered with golden pearls was this harlot
In her hand she held a cup of obscene and filthy things
The result of her immorality she brings
On her head was written a name so blurred
It meant Great Babylon. The mother of all immorality in the world
And she was drunk with God's people's blood
She would destroy those who loved Jesus like a mighty flood
When I saw her I was completely surprised
The angel assured me he would explain about the antichrist
He would also share of his secret thing
About the woman, the beast, and the meaning they bring
For the seven heads are seven hills upon which the woman sits
These heads mean also seven ancient kings
Five of them have fallen, one still ruled, and one is to come
In the year AD 95 when this was all said and done
The ten horns are ten modern kings that must still come and rule
And they'll be given authority and be cruel
For all of them will side with the beast against the Lamb
But they will be defeated by the great I Am
Then the angel softly said to me
The nations of the earth will support this woman freely
But the ten kings and the beast will hate this prostitute
For they will take away everything
Leaving her naked and in ill repute
And they will eat her flesh and destroy her with fire
For God has placed it in their hearts, all this desire
By acting together in everything
Till God's words come true and they fade to nothing
For the seven heads are seven hills upon which the woman sits
These heads mean also seven ancient kings
Five of them have fallen, one still ruled, and one is to come
In the year AD 95 when this was all said and done
The ten horns are ten modern kings that must still come and rule
And they'll be given authority and be cruel
For all of them will side with the beast against the Lamb
But they will be defeated by the great I Am
Then I heard a voice in heaven say
Come out, my people, come out of her daze
For you must not take part in her sin
You must not share in her punishment
For her sins are piled up as high as the heavens above
And God remembers her wicked ways, she has abandoned love
So treat her exactly as she has treated you
Pay her that double, that's what you need to do
Fill her cup with a drink that's twice as strong
As the drink she has prepared for you, this wicked Babylon
Give her as much suffering and grief
As the glory and luxury she gave herself in her false belief
Because of her attitude, she'll be destroyed in a single day
With fire she will burn, disease and famine she will pay
Because the Lord God, who is mighty, and judges her
And who can stand against him? The great I Am
At once an angel carried me to a desert by the sea
There a woman sat on a beast so red
The beast had ten horns and seven heads
