Brazilian Coast

Curlews peck in the horizon;
On the coral reef that shines when the tide is low;
And you look for the crabs asleep, in the roots of an almond tree;
Three horse riders approach the bungalows;

Dogs cross the beach leaving the imprints of their paws;
Hummingbirds mistake the floral patterns on the hammock
For real blossoms
As you oscillate slow...

As the tide rises
Wooden sticks forewarn the fishermen of the shoals down below;

Vultures soar in the cloudless evening, scouring the shore
Later the sun will dissolve in a pool of blood
Permeating in this Brazilian Coast
