Old Soul

Ever since I was little
I grew up shy as other people observed
Always was told by older people around me In my life
That I'm an old soul
And wasn't like everyone else

Didn't quite know what it meant at the time
Guess I was an old soul
Wasn't the average kid
(Guess I was an old soul)
(Wasn't the average kid)
(Guess I was an old soul)
(Wasn't the average kid)
(Guess I was an old soul)
Guess I was an old soul growing up
I did what most kids did

I had friends but
Always felt out of place
All my bad memories from that time
My brain didn't want to remember
It's shoved in a file somewhere

Guess I'm an old soul
Growing up I did what most kids did
Took my books and read anywhere I went
The only thing I remember
Is after school an extended program
Doing work and feeling free
And going outside and being happy
And not ashamed
