Pine Sap

There's pine sap on your dress
And there are scrapes on your shins
Above your boot line
And I'm in love again
There are Camel Lights on your breath
And your hair is up, your eyes are down
And I'm amazed this mountain town has space
For a grin so wide as mine
And there's something on the wind
That's winter approaching
That's summer finally giving in to fall
And the cold gets to your skin
Straight through your coat and
Into you bones and you
You don't seem to mind
And there are lines between the lanes
Of the roads that are supposed to
Take us where we need to be
But the paint has peeled away
And so it seemed more suggestion
Than a space meant to hold me
And I think I lost my way
But you seem like you've got a sense
Of direction, so maybe
You could lead me home
Whatever that may mean
'Cause my definition
Is much less rigid these days
Yeah, anymore it's anything
I swear to god it's everything
