S.O.G. (Sons of God)

S.O.G
The sons of God
If you don't look like your father, there's probably a problem
Doubts and accusations of scandal is what they're calling

A lack of resemblance may call for a confession and solemn repentance
For instance, first and natural as an example
This my boy, he's my spitting image
I'm so proud of what he's done and with what he's been given

Now here comes the scrimmage
What
What
He's not even mine

Now my head starts spinning, filled with adrenaline but can't run
Ain't nothing worse than negative results when it comes to the testing of your son
The intro is finished but I'm not quite done
See, something is not right

In a world that loves the night, there is a remnant that is called to be a shining light
Also known as the manifestation of the sons of God or S.O.G
And as many that do receive him, to them, he gave power to become the sons and daughters
Of the almighty

How exciting
The day he pours out his spirit upon all flesh to make way for prophecy
But first, we must be led by the spirit
Walk in the spirit and crucify the flesh daily

Now we do our best to be blameless in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation and
Study for each test
But his word, bless the Lord that he's patient
We are in but not of this world

It's like we're at a train station waiting for our father
Therefore we need him to recognize us when he comes
With Christ as our foundation, to be Christ-like is to hold some identifiable relation
We have the opportunity to become his kids and not just his creation

If we love him like he loved us, we can endure correction and chastening, trust and believe
Obedience is better than sacrifice
Without God, we are but dust
Malachi says that we shall tread down the wicked under our feet

To me, that sounds strong and not weak
It sounds like God gave us dominion and our enemies defeat
Perhaps I should repeat
And God said, let us make man in our image and after our likeness

Let them have dominion over all the earth
Genesis 1 in the 26th verse
We were meant to be victorious since birth
My heart cries, Abba, Father, cause I know he's listening

And I'm his son despite my sinning
Cause there's a cross that says I'm forgiven
Now I need to help my brothers and sisters start winning
Adam was the first son but fell

And now we're trying to get back to where he was in the beginning
Jesus came second but was the first son among many brethren
He showed us how it's done and is soon to come again
One thing I learned was that he was humble, obedient, and cared for others

Loved his enemies just like he loved his brothers and sisters
Well, who's that
Those that do the will of the Father
In fact, the sons of God got something they need to take back

And that's everything the devil stole
Like our neighborhoods, schools, communities, and youth
What about the widow
Or poor hungry families staring out the window

The truth is, the truth hurts
Satan wants our fathers locked up and our mothers overworked
Children unsupervised and gang life normalized
It hurts

Unforgiveness, unemployment, divorce, and young girls growing up not realizing their worth
Political, spiritual, and racial justice perverse
It hurts
See, we are supposed to be a light in the land of great darkness and do what's right

Regardless
When they see us, they should see God in his likeness
So the angels and our Father who art in heaven are patiently awaiting the manifestation of
The sons of God
They waiting on us
