Rain, Fog, + Wind

The world takes what you have
Then leaves you with nothing at all
And I'm living life straight down the cliff side
Feels like you're falling for miles

I stare out the window
My breath on the glass
I need to learn to leave the past in the past

Like the weekend I drove
Up into the evergreens
Tucked deep in the woods
Outskirts of town in Lostine

And I couldn't keep the feeling of peace
But if one day I do
It would take me back to that place
Want to give that feeling to you

Cause when the rain would fall at night
I cherished my life
Was like I'd never seen something more beautiful
As the fog rolled through the sky
How waterfalls from my eyes
Got swept up in the wind of my mind
In a world with no guiding light
It's like where do you go?
Thought I once knew my way
Led myself into shadows
No map no design
I'm lost in my mind
I tell myself I'll make it out alive

What if I can't let go?

Of the moments I replay in my mind
I consider them all a mistake
Even though I have learned how to land
On my own two feet
Use them to start walking away
From choices that could hurt me
I've been known to overthink
And I could never rely
On something up in the sky
Cause If I'm waiting on hope
I could be waiting until I die
And I'm glad that you painted me blue
Cause if I was younger I may have never left you

But now I've seen the rain fall at night
A bitter beautiful sight
The way the rain, fog + wind glisten off my eyes
It's a place you only see in dreams
I fell to my knees
The memories you make are the strongest things
That will live on in your mind
Through years and years overtime

And I love the feeling I get when I cry
Especially when the rain comes pouring down
Cause it don't get harder than this
So I let it all out
And I love the way
The rain gets rid of the ache
And you may get lost in the fog
But the wind will blow it away
