Blind Faith

BLIND FAITH

She led me to her snare,
Controlled the conversation.
She bit her lip, she longed for blood,
Yet seemed so calm and patient.

She brought up climate change,
Asked for my point of view .
She bit her lip, asked what i thought
About Donald Trump and " Metoo "?

The writings on the wall,
The ceilings getting lower.
These walls are closing in,
From all your hydraulic verbal power.

Theres nothing new in your new religion,
Now the interrogations have begun.
In a fit of anxious mental rage,
You'd love to choke me with your blind faith.

A neighbour rang my doorbell,
He asked Brother what's all that noise?
I said brother there's a war on here
That separates the men from all the boys.

I tried to change the subject,
Be a nicer host.
Some repartee, a sheepish smile,
But I knew that I was toast.

The writings on the wall,
The ceilings getting lower.
These walls are closing in,
You'd better push or die a coward.

Because they'll crush you with their new religion.
Their interrogations have begun .
Leading questions, like hooks with bait.
It's an inquisition and it demands blind faith.

Once there was a time,
in a land not far away,
The angelus rang out at 12
3 million people, stopped to pray.

Now the bells still chime at noon,
But noone stops to pray.
It makes less smoke recycling garbage
Than burning heretics at the stake.

You wrote it on your wall
Now the ceilings gotten lower.
We're all afraid to speak,
Intolerance has that power.

Theres nothing new in this new religion,
They write down every word you say.
Then they twist the meaning in every way,
So there's no discussion, theres just Blind Faith.
