Rosy Cheeks

My recollection-a blurred reflection

Stolen words whisper as you wade through my mind
And I guess I glimpse the faintest touch of hue
Rosy cheeks replace the thoughts of atom bombs
Stop for silence and white noise is what you'll find
I feel so blind

And I still wonder why it's sleep I often scorn
When Dreaming melodies that I have heard you sing
They are blessings brought to hide cacophony
Then I try to see your lips and find myself forlorn

And you may find me there
Under the knife
In that blinding light
Until you find me there
Under the knife
In that blinding light

I woke in wee small hours for years when I was young
Ears are piercing as I gaze down flights of stairs
Tell my mother of the dream I have each night:
A ceaseless flashing light that in the corner hung
And I feel dread

"It's time to go sleep in peace son
I hope that you will see;
You shall never be alone"

I refused to linger in the dark
So I vowed with my broken heart:

Until you find me there
Under the knife
In the blinding light
My form will not impair
'Til I'm under the knife
In the blinding light
