New Blood (Part One)

So, here we are
At the end of one story
But perhaps the beginning of something much larger

They'll remember what I've done, you know
They'll try to understand it, to make sense of it
But they never will

Because, because this was never about revenge, not really
Or even power
This was about something far more profound
This was about evolution
About stepping into a role that's been
Waiting for someone strong enough to claim it
And by God, that man
That, God, is me

They wanted to cast me as the villain
The monster in their nightmares
But while they spent their time getting drunk
Embracing mediocrity, and doing just enough to get by
Binging trash tv and congratulating each other for simply existing
I was different
I was sharpening, refining, becoming something more

They lulled themselves to sleep
Drowning in the mundane, while I honed my focus
Obsessed with one singular purpose
To reshape this world
To exact a reckoning, they could never anticipate

But let me tell you a secret, my dolls
The story doesn't end with them
No, it grew, it evolved, just like I did

That girl?
The one who thought she could walk away from me?
She begged me to become my wife
Oh yes, she didn't realize it at first
I mean how could she?
I had shaped her, sculpted her desires, her very thoughts
Until she couldn't see a life without me

I didn't just guide her
I led her to the edge
Let her believe she was making her own decisions
Until the moment she threw herself into my hands

She thought she was in control, that she was choosing me?
But every step, every breath was orchestrated by me
Then she thought she could escape
That she could write her own story
No, no, no, no

She was wrong
Because now, I am her new creator
I am the one who has shaped her, defined her
Molded her into something that will endure
She may have thought she was free, but in truth
She is mine, bound to this legend just as much as I am

And then, aww, to my delight
She gave me more than I ever imagined
Not just a child, but twins
Two perfect mirrors of myself

Born into a world where their purpose is clear
Where they'll know exactly who they are meant to be
They are mine in every way that matters
And I will mold them into something far greater
Then this world has ever seen

And when the usefulness of their mother has ended
I'll just make sure it's just me and my boys
I'll shape them into the perfect men
And Heaven help humanity
When they take their rightful place next to me
