Welcome To The Ball - Spotify Interview
Welcome To The Ball
Is a song I wrote for the World Cup, actually
In Europe, there was an idea that Robert Wilson theatre director
Would put on this spectacular event with Grace Jones and myself
It happened though it didn't happen
And, uhm, but I wrote this song, and, uh
And-and then it was sort of shelved
And it was one of those songs that Mark found and-, in the vault, and, y'know, wanted to resurrect
So, it's about being than kind of superhuman object of, uh, of desire
And, uh, and-and how in the end there is a lonely element to that
But let's party on
And, uh, forget about death in the corner
