"Sometimes You Need" is a very new song
And-and it's a song that means a lot to me emotionally
Because, uh

Okay! On that song, and here we can get into specific things
On that song, there's a guitar riff that, uh
That starts off the... the piece, it's played on a nylon string guitar
That actually belonged to my mother
And I had sorta figured out this picking thing, and
But I'm not a good enough guitar player to really pull it off
But I knew the notes, and when my mother was quite ill

Like, really, probably about a month before she died
We were up in Canada, and at our country house
And she was very tired and very, you know, sick
And I actually took the guitar and I tried to...
I asked if she could sorta give me an easier way
A better fingering than I was using for this piece

So, for a moment, and then she kinda took the guitar
And she tried, she really was too weak to really figure it out
But I played that a lot while she was dying
And then, subsequently, um
Sean Lennon played that for me
He kinda took over and plays it absolutely wonderfully
On the record, so it's sort of this...
I don't know, that's a very emotional song
