The Rhythm of Silence II

Its colourless mass enveloped me in a surreal eeriness
Where I could not stand the deafening noise of
Hearing my own thoughts scream for recognition
These formless entities of a glimmering
Nature that my own retinas cannot register
Danced in and about revolutions as if I was their Sun
Dutied by my own creations to keep balance in this chaos
The wealth of the life I once knew has faded into wisps of a fantasy
That now mean nothing to me than gray matter
I must've lost my brain
Because my mind is no longer contained in that shell
And it forever expands and probes the darkness it inhabits
But something about the truth behind the words
"Only in silence can you hear God" struck me with irony
Because now my ears pick up absolutely nothing

But even silence has its own unique footsteps
Listen... A steady rhythm
Unwavering, confident, existing with a purpose
My mind, with a renewed motivation,
Scrambled to every corner of this dark globe
But to no avail, the steady rhythm kept beating on
Unwavering, confident, existing with a purpose
My ears sought for the origin but it was like the vast blue sky
With no beginning yet we know it must end somewhere
And someday, it will end
But until then,
I explored its infinite nature of
Silent beats and meaningless purpose
As it was everywhere
I can hear it beating from above like the drums of the thunderstorms
Quaking the Earth below as if a beast was clawing its way out
Coming from all sides I thought I
Had awakened the bodies of a dead army
But what left my mind in the chaotic
Mess it's in is that the rhythm came from
Within
It resonated within every fibre of my organic nature
Strumming like harp strings upon my being
Yet I heard nothing
So I picked up the pen
Listened to the silence
And wrote to the rhythm
