Perception Vs. Realtity
Woke up in the evening
I had to go fishing
When I'm on the court
I'm the big man, I'm still dishing
I grab my ultra light rod
And some six pound test
And an average size hook
Wait for it, here's the catch
I get out my Franks
I'm talking hotdogs
Sixty nine cents for the pack
I'm still out here catching logs
Pain is in my chest
I can't seem to let it out
So much deception and evil
That comes with this thing called clout
As I cast my line out
I look up to God and pray
It's 10:30 PM
This is how I'll end my day
I sit around for about an hour
Then something takes my line
The reel it starts to buzz
Oh this Catfish must be fine
I'm praying for peace
While I'm pulling this beast in
The monster remains within me
Swear I cannot let it win
As the beast takes out my drag
And my shoulders start to sag
From the overwhelming guilt
Of breaking up with you that day
The beast is on full throttle
And I'm running out of time
Picture myself next to that bottle
Felt at the end of my line
Then right at the last second
I jumped in, and grabbed the fish
I took the pills and alcohol
Into my system made a wish
I held up my prize
As blood flooded through my eyes
It was perception versus reality
But which was which, and why
Was I really this demon
That everyone denied
Any affiliation with me
And people try to end your life
I don't understand why
I let these people in my life
Just for them to back stab me
And they ain't even use a knife
Cuz if they did, damn
Then the suffering might end
All the pain built in my heart
Only God can comprehend
I had to go fishing
When I'm on the court
I'm the big man, I'm still dishing
I grab my ultra light rod
And some six pound test
And an average size hook
Wait for it, here's the catch
