Crazed Chimpanzee

I'd like to think it was me in those sights
A drink, an old sink, and a bitter, still night
She took a sip from the bloodied lagoon
And all the clouds soared like blue, bloated balloons

Just like the galaxies churning away
Just like the absence of Vitamin A
Just like the cold, molten core of the Earth
Just like the surplus of cows giving birth

The dew and the morning fog wet the old wood
A mother holds its young like yours never could
The sand dunes and glaciers are screaming at you
Earth is the headache that you never knew

Just like the nightmare of having a brain
Just like the caress of an oncoming train
Just like the moist rainforest canopy
Just like the corpse of a crazed chimpanzee

So scream at the sun, and wrestle the rain
I did my best to extract all the pain
The object is folded, the leg remains clean
Unlike the corpse of a crazed
