Make Jesus Famous (Prelude)

If I attach fame to His name
Will I be tempted to receive the same
Will I masquerade His Presence
Like some sort of charade

Because I've seen lots of folks say
That they were doing this for Jesus
But it was clearly about them
Narcissists hiding behind a
Religious guise and pulled by their own whims

It's a tough thing to feel like
Your gifts place you on a stage
When some congregations like curtain calls
And becoming a celebrity is all the rage

One out of five of Gen Z wants to become influencers
And in Christianity it's probably the same
So that's why I wrote this poem
As you flip to the next page
