Become a Father
I saw another Dad cryin in the mediation waiting room today
I wanted to console him in some way,
But I knew there was nothing I could say to take the pain away
Instead I sat there silently and began to pray
For him and for myself
And every other Dad thats felt that way
When Mom decides to take the baby away
And both my closest friends
Grew up without their fathers cuz they past away
They wish they could explain to his Mom
The struggles that they deal with to this very day
Cuz kids that grow up without their fathers
Are prone to a lotta things I don't wanna say
I don't want to offend anybody that didn't have a choice in how they were raised
I just miss my son
Its been over a month since he's been over to Daddys to play
And if that doesn't mean the family court systems broken then
Id venture to say that you've never been through it with bae
Cuz to this day I can still get enraged
When I think about how much of her case she staged
Playin me but she was the actor knowing all well my heart was locked in her cage
And Im afraid it might still be there to this day and age
But I know I need to turn the page
Let jesus take the wheel and exit center stage
While these lawyers duke it out im left entirely estranged from my son
Because his deranged mom thought it sounded fun?
Jesus, help me, help them, help us all
This family doesn't need court we need Jesus to get involved
And I would bring more people to Jesus than Paul
If he would accept my repentance and answer my call
And he does
But that doesn't mean he is going to restore what was
And its going to be on his time not mine
And some days I can't deal with that because
Im human
Im not wise im not illumined
Im just a sinner tucked away in his room n'
Feelin doomed again
Cuz my family's suin again
And we were sposed to be family shouldn't we still at least be friends?
Its like you didn't even try to hide that I was only a means to an ends
Acting like you wanted to work together guess we can imagine
Cuz in reality I been under attack since he was born
Threatened with every scorn
That youd take my baby in the morn
And the court is like your porn
Watching me be torn
But thank God I've been reborn
To Jesus I am sworn
And I got a feelin your about to learn a thing or two
Give my attorney a ring or two
And thats all Ive ever asked cuz I'm thinking about him and not you
I don't use our son as a tool but it's obvious that you do
And its obvious what the grandparents are up to to
But how many years do I really have left to deal with those two
Cuz when he's ten your in your seventies
And when he's 20 your probably both heavenly
But thats only if you repent to JC
I'll pray for you but your no priority
Not to me
If I were on death row shed have to bring my son for me to see
So let that put a cork in your twisted little fantasy
In closing
She can try to take away Dad
Keep your chin up it just makes her look bad
Get ready for the long fight
Its not a short night
Like the one that resulted in the baby you both had
And even when its hard and it hurts bad
Use this time to get right with jesus
And become a father instead of just a Dad
I wanted to console him in some way,
But I knew there was nothing I could say to take the pain away
