Lobsters
Lobsters have a gastric mill instead of teeth
Used to break down food and they taste with their feet
They smell food with their chemosensory hairs
They can turn in to cannibals when options are scarce
Lobsters don't have any lungs or vocal cords
When fleeing they curl up quick and swim backwards
They can regenerate limbs if they lose one
They're known to hold claws when they walk with their young
Females carry sperm from their mates and decide
When to allow their eggs to be fertilized
They can produce thousands of eggs in a batch
Which take roughly 9-12 months before they will hatch
They can come in various colours and size
Clawed and spiny are the two main lobster types
Spiny lobsters prefer more warmer waters
They don't have claws instead they have antennas
Clawed lobsters will use one claw as a pincer
While the other one is used as a crusher
It's been found that they can be ambidextrous
They show no signs of ageing or senescence
Lobsters never stop growing so they must moult
Their exoskeletons but become vulnerable
They are soft so many die during this phase
They hide until their new shell hardens to stay safe
Used to break down food and they taste with their feet
