So much time spent with you
And yet I feel like
I never really met you despite the years
That I've spent next to you while you were near
But I'd like to be clear that I know your mask
But the person you are - not the slightest Idea
I think that I know who you'd like to be
And I know that it's not you that I can see
Every sentence and word feels so rehearsed
You seem like a lie to me
Every time you repeated the same things again
To keep up the face in a way you pretended to be someone else
Let me see through the shell please
Or you will push me away in the end
You don't know what it means to be you
What's beneath the strategies and the rules
Just keeping it cool loses meaning as soon as you breathe and start seeking the truth
And I'm well aware that opening up is hard
It's a lot to ask
It's perfectly fine to speak from your mind for the rest of your life
But I would like you to speak from your heart
Why don't you just show me who you are

And try being friends
